Centerpoint getting there slowly but surely...

Whilst progress on writing the second half of CDW series 4 is good, unfortunately the same can not be said for the series of Centerpoint. I am still filming the first three episodes and although I am getting there, it is at a pace which has been slower than I had hoped.

I remain confident however that Centerpoint will indeed be ready for its release on 10.11.12 (November 10th incase our American friends were confused). I hope to be able to bring you some more information regarding the series soon.

I can do it!

I have had a play about tonight and I can do it! I have managed to render a brilliant little test sequence of the Doctor, in the TARDIS, flailing about at the controls and being thrown about...and it looks brilliant. I can't wait for all to see series 4 now. Enthusiasm has spiked once more, and so has my confidence in Moviestorm. yay!

Christel Doctor Who of the Week...Father Time

The episode that I have written for Burkeys Series (here) is called Father Time. It was originally penciled in for series 2 of Christel Doctor Who, but because of the tone of the episode, I felt it was too similiar to others that would follow it and so I took the difficult decision and dropped it.

You can imagine my delight then, when Burkey asked me to write for series and said he wanted something different. Step up, Father Time.

Written in the Stars Coming soon...

The second of the 2012 Christel Doctor Who Specials, Written in the Stars, will be coming soon. I originally gave a July release date and I am hoping to honor this by releasing the episode/comic story in the final week of July this year. I have started putting the first few images of the comic panes together and hope to be able to give you a little more information about this story within the next few days.

The episode of course will not be animated "film" but a comic strip released over five days. I am going for a tentative release date of July 25th, but at the moment this is subject to change.

New Pictures of the Doctor Coming Soon!

Having now almost finished the first half of CDW series 4 and signed some voice actors on for the main roles I am now beginning to fine tune the visual/aesthetic look of the 12th Doctor that will be voiced by Edward Gore. I hope soon to be able to show you some of the first shots of his Doctor and then hopefully I will be able to acutally let you hear what the 12th Doctor will sound like. Be sure to check back for more information on this as it develops.

Christel Doctor Who of the Week...The Master

Although the master plays quite a pivotal role in the final 2009 special Endgame he dissapears quite quickly and it is never explicitly said what happened to him.

I did intend for this to be the case and wanted to use the master in series 2 of Christel Doctor Who, but then I came up with the Rani storyline and never picked the Master thread up again.

Series 4 to get new Title Sequence and Theme

To continue the aesthetic development of Christel Doctor Who I can confirm that series 4 will have a brand new opening title sequence and theme tune. Having already played about with numerous designs for the title sequence I am very pleased with what will be the final result and can't wait for you all to see it.

Christel Doctor Who of the Week...Series 3

You all know series 3 of CDW as a 6 episode-one story whopper, but the original plan was much different. The six episodes that you saw were originally planned to be the last six of a 13 episode series. The 7 episodes before that would have been normal one story episodes that fore-shadowed the build up to the finale and gradually re-introduced the campaigns to the Doctor, finishing with Timothy at the end of episode 7.

I quickly decided against the idea and decided a quick rewrite would fit all of the campaigns into the story anyway.

Series 4 writing continues...

Over the past few days I have been turning my attention towards the second half of Christel Doctor Who series 4. Although the second half of the series is not due until this sort of time next year I have continued working on the episodes in the second half that I have to write.

The good thing about the second half of the series is that 3 of the 7 episodes are being written by guest writers (Blink, JR Mortimer and PreTitleSequence) which means that I just have the series finale (two-episodes) and two other episodes to think about.

FIrst Post Christel Doctor Who Project Takes Shape...

Although I have firm plans for Christel Doctor Who through to series 6 I am now beginning to think about the possibility of bringing some of my other long held ideas and dreams to the computer screen, which would ultimately happen after, dare I say it, Christel Doctor Who is put to bed.

The first of these ideas is one that has tentatively been bandying around in the back of my head for many years and has gone through a number of different iterations since then. One day I hope to be able to produce a feature length "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" film. I (must have been one of the only people) actually liked the film adaption of the popular comic series when it was released in 2003 and since then have been toying with an idea for a rough sequel/reboot.

I should point out that the furthest I have ever got with this idea is a 10 page script that I then canned numerous times. But now I have seen the Avengers (inspiration much?) and am beginning to get to grips with Moviestorm it is something that I am beginning to think about again. By the way, when I say feature length, I mean it. Although not the 2 hours and 30 that the Avengers lasted.

Christel Doctor Who of the Week...The Beatles

Series 2 of Christel Doctor Who should have been 13 episodes instead of 12. The "missing" episode was to be an episode about the Beatles. I had originally planned to work something around the popular Beatles conspiracy theory that Paul Mcartney had been replaced after he was killed in his Aston Martin in 1966.

I had actually planned for the Conspiracy to be true, but for the Paul that was killed to have been a clone, therefore meaning that the real Paul replaced his clone in the band. I could never get the story to read right though. I re-wrote it a number of times and it never felt right. The Beatles avatars looked great but I could never get the story to feel a CDW story. Therefore it was shelved.

Centerpoint Teaser Coming Soon...

As filming of my newest spin-off series Centerpoint continues I am beginning to turn my thoughts to putting a teaser trailer together for the series. I hope to have enough footage soon to be able to put a short teaser together and should have something for you to take a look at by the end of the month.

In the meantime keep checking back for more Centerpoint news and info.

Centerpoint Arrives this Winter...

I honestly meant to release this as a viral video but the idea and the opportunities passed me by. So here is the viral ad for Centerpoint that has been long promised but not delivered. However, hopefully the wait has been worth it as there is a special treat added to this trailer, just keep watching the phone...

Hopefully this sets up a great number of questions, primarily of all...Why is this AcORN so interested in Mark Warren? Answers on a postcard please...
