Christelfilms.blogspot to be rebranded this fall...

Coming this winter I shall complete my revamp of my blog by rebranding it to "Christel Films" instead of "Christel Doctor Who".

The main idea behind this is that I will then be able to bring more of my other ideas, such as my previously mentioned League of Extraordinary Gentlemen film, to your computer screen and establish Christel Films as a fan film animation website that is not solely dedicated to Christel Doctor Who.

This means that there will be a last major design change to the website with Christel Doctor Who, and then each new project, receiving their own pages. There will still be a main news section to the blog so that you won't miss out on any information from your favorite Christel Films projects but the site will be not focussing mainly on Christel Doctor Who.

To mark this occasion I shall be relaunching the blog, logo and all, on October 1st. The Countdown is on!

Meet the 12th Doctor

Since casting Edward Gore to voice the 12th Doctor for series 4 of CDW there has been very little news about this new Doctor. Today that changes! I am pleased to present the Doctor's very first lines, from the end of series 3, now voiced by the wonderful Edward Gore. This was something that I originally intended to do when filming the regeneration scene but did not have the actor(s) in place at the time and so couldn't do it. Below is the short scene depicting Edward's take on the regeneration and giving you a sneak peek of what is to come...

Series 4 Update

With CDW series 4 news coming relatively regularly now I thought I would update you on the general state of the series and the progress that I making with the production.

Writing:
I am writing at least 9 of the 14 episodes, although this could rise to 10. I have finished writing all of the episodes that I had assigned myself for the first half and signed these scripts off. So that's episodes 1,2,3,6 and 7 written and ready. For the second of the series I am writing 5 episodes as well. I have finished episodes 8 and 12 and started episode 9. Episodes 13 and 14 will form the two part finale to the series and I have not started these yet. Here is a general run down of the series lineup so far.

First Half
1. Captinfranko - Finished
2. Captinfranko - Finished
3. Captinfranko - Finished
4. Burkey - Writing
5. PreTitleSequence - Writing
6. Captinfranko - Finished
7. Captinfranko - Finished

Second Half
8. Captinfranko - Finished
9. Captinfranko -Writing
10. Blink - Writing
11. JR Mortimer - Writing
12. Captinfranko - Finished
13. Captinfranko -Not Started
14.  Captinfranko -Not Started

Actors:
Edward Gore (Doctor), John Ryan (Fletcher) and Hannah Ray (Mystus) have been cast for some time now and I am pleased to say that I have recently sent the first scripts to them to begin recording their lines. This is really a momentous time for the series. Voice actors are indeed coming to Christel Doctor Who!

Visuals:
I've been playing about with the visuals since I got Moviestorm but I have also been working hard as well. I have completed the 12th Doctors new outfits (Spoilers!) AND the new Console room.

So overall things are coming along nicely. I hope to have the first set-reports in the coming months and will then think about putting a trailer together after that. My focus now switches to getting Centerpoint ready for its November 11th release.

Here's Sexy!!!!

As I am starting to move into the pre-production phase of CDW Series 4 I am working on the new aesthetic of the series. I am pleased to be able to show you the first pictures of the updated TARDIS for series 4 of Christel Doctor Who.

You can clearly see that the TARDIS design has been updated a little, made clearer, and the door now opens. Obvioulsy, I'd love to know what you think, so drop your comment in the chatbox on the blog.

Christel Doctor Who of the Week...Minimal Earth visits in Series 4

I can officially confirm that series 4 of Christel Doctor Who will only visit earth a very small number of times. It has to be said that I am taking somewhat of a risk by doing this, especially considering that neither of the Doctor's companions will be directly from earth.

The reason for the lack of Terra planet fall is the new and exciting possibilities that Moviestorm brings and the chance to have the TARDIS crew visit an almost infinite number of planets and solar systems.

Series 4 will have a Doctor-Lite Episode(s)

In keeping with every series of Christel Doctor Who so far, and indeed most of the BBC series of Doctor Who, CDW series 4 will have at least one Doctor-Lite episode. I should clarify that by Doctor-Lite, I mean that the Doctor will not be the main character. I have just started writing a Doctor-Lite story and it is already shaping up to be a good one.
