The New League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Part 1)

After watching the Avengers last year I had an urge to think of a way to create a new team up franchise of my own. I toyed about with Moviestorm and downloaded superhero costumes. I even came up with an avengers style shared universe for a new group of heroes called LEGEND's. The Legends would involved five heroes including, atom man (loosely based on Marvel comics Multiple man) and a strange dimension hopping woman known as Mysterio, but more to come on this aborted project later.

I wracked my brains for a long time and couldn't come up with anything that simply didn't look like a cheap avengers knock-off. The closest I got was an idea which would become a sequel of sorts to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, however I actually got as far as writing a treatment for this film and although its a bit crazy it fits (I think) into the LXG ethos of using book and popular fiction characters.

Pulling from across popular fiction the new league would be made up of the following characters, with their respective fictional universes in brackets and a brief mockup of their character poster for the final project.

-->
1. Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes)

2 and 3. TinTin and Captain Haddock

4. Hagrid (Harry Potter)

5. Rob Richards (Original Character)

6. Evey Hammond (V for Vendetta)

 I tried to go for a mix of characters that were originally literary based but had a solid grounding in film as well. In keeping with League tradition the person that established this new league would be none other than M (From the James Bond franchise).

 I knew I needed a strong, and dare I say it, Fury-esque character to not only control the group but one who would also have the clout to be able to form the newest incarnation of the league. Once I had "M" I then had a "grounded" universe for all of the others to fit into. Plus, the plot began to fall into place as well, but more on that in the next post...
