This week on Christel Films...

First off I must apologise for the lack of posts recently. I am currently writing the Christel Doctor Who Christmas Special and the first series of ARNIE, plus I am shooting TARDIS tours, so there is plenty to keep me busy.

Over the course of this next week I shall be posting with more information about both TARDIS tours and Series 1 of A.R.N.I.E . I hope to be able to reveal the logo for A.R.N.I.E's first series as well.

In the week following this I shall also be releasing a special edition of Christel Doctor Who Series 1, airing the whole series again but in one post, so that anybody new to the series can catch up or any avid fans can watch the whole thing from start to finish. Be sure to check back regularly this week...

EDIT - I can also confirm that work has started on Christel Doctor Who Series 2 as Burkey has confirmed on his wonderful blog (Here) that he has started work on his episode, which I know you are going to love!

Pick Your favourite Episode of Series 1 - WINNER

A few weeks ago I launched a poll on this blog aimed at finding your favorite episode of series 1. I am pleased to announce that episode 10, Curse of a Timelord won that poll and so is shown below in its full glory.

The episode has recieved rave reviews from those who watched it and I am really pleased that its experimental nature and different style went down so well.

So if you missed it, here is your chance to watch Timothy's final episode of Christel Doctor Who again...

Pick Your favourite Episode of Series 1

A few days ago Christel Doctor Who Series 1 got its first review from Burkey (Here) and it was a very generous and complimentary one. In that review Burkey goes onto talk about different episodes in the series and which ones he likes. This got me to thinking, and I have decided a poll is in order. Situated under the 'Favourite Blogs' part of the site on the right menu bar is a poll for you the viewer to vote for your favourite episode of Christel Doctor Who series 1. I will leave it up for a couple of weeks and then reshow the winning episode after the poll has finished.

Series 1 Promo Pic

Since series 1 of Christel Doctor Who finished I have been beavering away finishing a number of mini projects that I got started and one was the new banner that you see at the top of the blog. It is intended as a promotional picture for series 1 and nothing more really. I finally finished it tonight however and thought how good it looked. Enjoy...

Positive Reviews!

Whilst I have mostly received positive reviews on the stories and episodes within the series I have now received the first review of the whole series and I am so happy. Burkey (visit his blog here) has done a fantastic review and has made a number of very positive remarks about the formation of character arcs and the ways stories are told.

He has also pointed out different areas for improvement with which I agree whole-heartedly. I would like to take this opportunity for the truly wonderful review of the series and whilst I shall summarise the main points below I implore you to head over to his blog and read it in full. Thanks again Burkey,

Some of the main points,

I’ve also been a huge fan of your story arc.

On the Doctor,

He’s not just a re-tread of past Doctors; more a mixture of the best bits of them all. I love it! He has his own quirks, his own speech pattern, and he is very different from anything we’ve had from ‘NuWho’ in the past 5 years. I especially love his address of “My dear”; it’s full of affection but also of fatherly love and caring which really does show a lot about the relationship he shares with Tabitha. It also gives him a unique identity.

On Tabitha,

As I said in my short review of the first episode a few weeks back, I also love the character of Tabitha. Like I said, she’s not one to sit back and follow everything the Doctor says. She’s questionative, inquisitive and brave, and we know that she’s going to throw herself head first into any situation.

I'm very pleased that Burkey picked this up...watch this space.

All I’m going to say about Episode 6, ‘A.R.N.I.E.’, is that I think that the appearance of Matt Smith in the re-cap of all the Doctor’s is going to be a key part of Series 2 and I’m presuming that it’ll link in with the White Guardian arc. If this is the case I must congratulate you on planning such a great arc so far in advance. ...wait and see I'm not giving anything away yet...

In Summary...

I have loved every moment of it and I now intend to sit glued to my chair in anticipation of the Christmas Special and then the second series. Your series has been amazing and you not only created a brilliant series, but a brilliant universe populated by characters from your head and I think this will make for a very interesting second series.

So I end my review by saying ‘Well Done’, you have created a very enjoyable and engaging series, and I most definitely want to be writing for your second series!

Thanks once again to Burkey for the great review (Here) Next post will detail special projects and more Christel Doctor Who Info. Be sure to check back regularly.

Episode 13 Plot Snippets

I still plan to release Legends of a Timelord this weekend and so I am posting with the plot snippets today, enjoy and speculate at will...

1. Its the TARDIS, but not as we know it.

2. It may be handy to rewatch episode 7 at some point before this part of the episode. Hopefully this will be the first of a few 'oh-yeah's' that have been planned.

3. Test?! What Test?!

4. Ah yes the choice of ages...very emotional.

5. Some very interesting prophecies are made, 'You shall know yourself', what could that mean?

Currently the episode is about 60% finished with the script finished and 2/3 of the animation done. I am hoping for either Saturday or Sunday release. Thank you once more for all of your patience and support.
