After an unavoidable delay I am pleased to present to first episode (The Hunt Begins) of ARNIE, the official Christel Doctor Who spin off series.
Since I originally announced it the plans for this have changed beyond recognition and I intend to still be playing with the look and format of the show for sometime to come. In that instance I would ask that you give it time to evolve and hopefully enjoy as I try out different styles and looks. This first episode is a single part story, the rest of the episodes will be two parters, and lasts 8 minutes. Hopefully it helps to establish the back story and helps to set the series on its way to independence from Christel Doctor Who. Enjoy...

ARNIE is coming...
My apologies for not having ARNIE uploaded yesterday but as I was about to save it for upload we had a power cut. Unfortunately the power has not been back on long and I lost a large chunk of the subtitles that I had put on. I shall now endeavor to redo this and upload the episode for later tonight. Sorry for the delay.

Blink Interview
Earlier on this evening I completed an interview with Blink (here) and in it we discussed Doctor Who, his blog and of course the episode that he is doing for series 2 of Christel Doctor Who. He also started to talk about what we could expect from his blog next year and his first foray into writing. The interview is in full below, enjoy...
CF: Okay, firstly many thanks Blink for agreeing to do this interview.
B: It’s my pleasure Captin Franko.
CF: I suppose obvious question first really. What first got you into Doctor Who?
B: I first watched the show when it returned in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor, and was hooked within seconds. The whole concept of the programme was quite different to anything I’d seen before, and Eccleston was a really energetic actor who brought a lot of life to the show. The thing which really appealed to me was the variety of stories as the series went on, and the strong relationship which formed between the Doctor and Rose.
CF: I have to say I agree with the fact that Eccleston really helped to bring the show back to the masses and introduce new fans as well. Who is your favourite new series Doctor then?
B: When it comes to choosing my favourite Doctor, I find it a really hard question to answer. Christopher Eccleston will always be special to me as my first Doctor, however I have grown to love each of the actors for their own uniqueness and take on the character. If I had to choose between the three new Doctors, I’d choose David Tennant because I feel that he gave it the biggest emotional depth, although Matt Smith is proving to be a very good Doctor who could easily become my favourite if he continues to act so well.
CF: Speaking of David Tennant brings us nicely on to the next subject, if we may, your blog. Named after, in my opinion, one of the best episodes of the series since it returned. How long have you been up and running and what first inspired you to start blogging?
B: I opened my blog on 20th February this year, after I’d just seen that a friend of mine had opened their own Doctor Who blog. I had been visiting other Doctor Who forums and blogs for a few months beforehand where I got to know quite a few fellow Whovians, and decided that it would be interesting to start my own blog. I was good at using computers, quick to spot the latest news, and certainly dedicated to the programme. I also felt that many new fans of the show were not aware of the programme’s history, which I knew about and could talk about it in my posts, in particular the daily ‘A Matter of Time’ posts.
CF : Part of your blog is the special projects that you not only promote for other bloggers (Thank you once more) but you also use to promote your own endeavors such as “Patient Pluto” and your recent Halloween live action film. With you having just announced your Christmas plans what can we expect from you in 2011?
B: I have begun writing a new script for Burkey’s brand new Doctor Who series, which will be my main focus to complete between late 2010 and early 2011. Although I obviously can’t reveal any major details about the plot, I will say that the adventure takes place in the past, and features enemies both old and new. The story will also feature a very famous historical figure, similar to my script for your own series.
CF: As you say, you have written a script for the second series of my Christel Doctor Who, which I must say is brilliant (the script that is). Obviously without giving too much away, what can you tell us about the story (Death on the Line) and where you got the idea/inspiration from?
B: Thank you very much for the compliments. I first came up with the main idea behind the story when watching the classic Tom Baker story ‘Genesis of the Daleks’, where the Doctor questions Sarah Jane if he has the right to kill something so evil and change the course of history. This concept sparked something in my head, and I began to think about how the world could change if, not a whole race, but a single person never existed. This led to the creation of ‘Death on the Line’, and the sequences of dilemmas which the Doctor and Tabitha have to face throughout the adventure.
CF: And I think that you chose an ideal person to test that theory on.So now you have ‘dipped your toes’ into the water and written this episode and Burkey’s can we expect to see anymore episodes from you, or even your own series at some point? I shall definitely come knocking for series 3 of Christel Doctor Who if you don’t mind.
B: Funnily enough, I have thought of a potential future storyline to put across to you, which I’ll talk to you separately about. For the upcoming Christmas advent project that I’m working on, I have written the first part of a two-part story which will be released this December. This might lead on to me writing future short stories every so often, although I don’t think I will form a whole series.
CF: Well that brings proceedings to a close here. Thank you once again Blink for agreeing to do this interview. I look forward to future special projects from yourself and indeed the release of your episode, Death on the Line. Thanks again.

Series 2 Production Underway!
As promised and planned Series 2 of Christel Doctor Who went into production today. I have worked on small bits of the guest episodes that Blink (here) and Burkey (here) have written and focused mostly on the opening scenes. That of course meant that for Burkeys episode, River Song made her long awaited appearance, which Im sure you are all looking forward to.
More news will now be drip fed to you as it happens and from time to time there will be 'set-reports' detailing some of the days action.
On the subject of guest writers I am hoping to confirm the replacement writer for DanHarma during this coming week so be sure to keep checking back for news of that episode also.

ARNIE Episode 1 Synopsis
With Tomorrow marking the launch of series 1 of ARNIE, my first Christel Doctor Who Spinoff, I am posting the synopsis for episode 1, entitled, The Hunt Begins.
Series 1, Episode 1 - The Hunt Begins. ARNIE is something special, an extremely advanced futuristic robot who is trapped in the 20th century. With only his new friend Sargeant Parris to help him ARNIE must now begin piecing together the clues about his creation, but Firstly, he must retrieve something very dear to him...a computer chip; the only possession that he remembers having has been stolen and it could provide all the answers that he needs; Then again, it could bring about a lot more questions...Who has stolen ARNIE's chip? Who is lurking in the offices of Nimth corps? And just who are the Vespalax?
Hopefully the episode will be up around 5-6 'o' clock tomorrow afternoon.

Series 2 Xmas Trailer
I was asked a very valid question earlier and I can confirm that there will be a short teaser trailer for series 2 at the end of the Christmas Special. I am hoping to have got the majority of the work on production block 1 finished by then and so the trailer will be mostly footage from that and some other action that I know Im going to be using.

ARNIE Episode 1 Next Week
News on series 1 of ARNIE has been quiet recently due to the fact that I have been busy at work and I have been sorting out stories for series 2 of Christel Doctor Who. However, today I am pleased to announce that series 1 of ARNIE will commence next weekend. Episode 1 entitled, the Hunt Begins will premiere on this blog next Sunday and be the start of a 5 episode first series.
At the moment the plan is to release the episodes when they are ready and so I cannot guarantee a regular release pattern. The idea behind this change was to keep people interested between series' of Christel Doctor Who. Each episode is about 8-10 minutes in length and all the stories, apart from this first 'pilot' episode are two-parter stories.
Be sure to check back next weekend for episode 1, thanks for the support and hits. Captin.

Series 2 Opening Titles
As a special release in honor of Children in Need, I am proud to present the new look opening titles for the second series of Christel Doctor Who coming in 2011. I was keen to make a 'nod' to the old fashion opening titles and show the Doctors face, and so, here is my attempt at doing just that. The titles are presented here as they will be seen for episode 1 of series 2 entitled, Hearts of Stone.
As ever, thoughts, comments and feedback are welcomed.

November 27th it starts all over again!
Next weekend, November 27th, I shall offically begin production of series 2 of Christel Doctor Who. Production Block 1 is scheduled to last until the end of December and take in production of episodes written by guest writers. So far these episodes have been confirmed as episode 3, Death on the Line, written by Blink and episode 7, Picnic at Asgard, written by Burkey.
With referrence to these episodes, I am sorry to report that I have now dropped the two part-story that DanHarma was going to write. I have heard nothing from him and his blog has gone dead. If you are out there Dan please get in touch, I would still love to use the story. Instead I have replaced it with a story that I have had in reserve and now changed to make into a two-parter. I would also state that I am open to new writers with ideas for stories as well. Be sure to check back Friday for the release of the new opening titles. Until then, KBO!

(Don't) Blink and you'll miss it.
I can today confirm that I have begun scripting of episode 1 for series 2 and I am pleased to announce that it will feature the return of, what has been in my opinion, the scariest monsters featured in Doctor Who since it returned to our screens. Thats right the Weeping Angels are coming to Christel Doctor Who! And they are opening the series! The episode is called Hearts of Stone and will open what I hope to be a truly spectacular second series.
This announcement follows an earlier one about the appearance of River Song later in the series and I am aware that at the moment it may appear like I am recycling current and old enemies/companions but fear not, both the Angel and River Song stories are new and original and take the enemies in new and intriguing directions, especially because I believe I have created something that can equal the angels...but any news on that would just be giving the game away. Be sure to check back on Friday for the exclusive release of the new opening titles. Until then, thanks for the continued support.

Opening Titles Update
Over the past few days I have been working on the look of the opening titles and I am pleased to say that I have now finished the new titles in preparation for the Christmas special and series 2. As a celebration of this fact I shall premiering them on this blog on Friday night to mark Children in Need. Be sure to check back and let me know what you think, I have tried to go for a more 'old-school' feel and I hope this comes off in the presentation.

Its a Date...
I can officially confirm today that the very first Christel Doctor Who Christmas Special will be aired exclusively on christelfilms.blogspot.com on Monday December 20th 2010. I have taken the decision to go before Christmas instead of the week between Christmas and New year because I want to avoid the Real Doctor Who Christmas Episode and I want to focus on production of series 2 during the holidays.
A Trailer is coming soon as well as new promotional images, so be sure to look out for those towards the end of this month. I will make an announcement about the first series of ARNIE soon but I am still beavering away on the first series and want it just right before releasing it.

On SONG for 2011...River Song to be Precise...
After some hard work behind the scenes I am now pleased to announce the next major piece of news about series 2 of Christel Doctor Who. Tonight I make two high profile announcements; Firstly, Burkey's episode will be called Picnic at Asgard, having only seen a small snippet of the script I can tell you with confidence that it will be a barnstorming episode. Secondly, it will feature none other than River Song herself. The engimatic and mysterious professor/doctor/whatever she is, is getting the Christel Doctor Who treatment. I have been looking for a way of including her for a while and Burkey's idea for the episode was too good a one to pass up. Below are some early shots on the 'on set' action as well as a few promo shots that I have made, enjoy...
Check out Burkeys blog here
On a slightly more worrying/sad note I am yet to be able to announce any news about the two episodes that my other guest writer, DanHarma, is writing. His blog seems to have fallen silent and attempts to contact him have proved unsuccessful. More on this as it develops.
