I have a good feeling about this...

So here it is...from the very moment that the credits rolled at the end of Return of the Jedi people wondered "what happened next" in the Star Wars saga. We got to find out "What happened previously" with the prequels, and whether you liked them or not, they told the Star Wars story. Now, finally, episode 7 is in Disney's hands and will be released in 2015.

I really do hope it is episode 7 and that we get to see what happened to Luke, Leia, Han etc after defeating the Emperor. Star Wars was my first love along time before Doctor Who and whilst I am a little worried about the future of the franchise in the hands of Disney I can't help but Nerdgasm at finally getting to see the opening credits roll on the post-vader star wars universe. Admiral Thrawn anyone?

Series 4 filming continues

After announcing that this blog will close down on December 31st I have been hard at work on series 4 of Christel Doctor Who and have now managed to film 4 more scenes for episode 1. As I am yet to find voice actors for the other roles I am still ploughing through the scenes with just the Doctor and Fletcher but I am making good progress now and the first episode is starting to come together. I hope to have a rough-cut of one of the scenes ready to show you pretty soon.

Remember, even though the blog is closing down, series 4 of Christel Doctor Who is NOT! I am working harder than ever on it now and I am really chuffed with some of the stuff that I can do with Moviestorm.

The Ending Approaches...

I have thought long and hard about this decision, but it seems the most logical. I'll come straight out and say it...

On December 31st 2012 Christelfilms.blogspot.com will close down.

I have thought long and hard about the decision and I have decided that I can promote CDW and my other projects to a much wider audience through youtube and facebook, with much less work involved. I posted a while back about my thoughts and I have had time to assess traffic to the site; which is now virtually non-existent. All-in-all this means that I am posting to pretty much nobody and however you look at it, that's a waste of time.

I would like to state catergorically that this DOES NOT MEAN THE END FOR ANY CHRISTEL FILMS PROJECTS. Infact it should be a big boost as I won't have to continuously worry about updating the blog and can get on with filming and editing.

In place of this blog, and on December 24th, I will be launching a dedicated facebook group to keep you regular fans updated and hopefully draw a ton more in. On that December 24th launch I will officially premiere the first CDW Series 4 trailer, both as a last hurrah for the blog and a launch item for the facebook page.

I shall also overhaul my rather messy Youtube account and finish uploading the entire CDW "Back-catalog", which is something that I never got round to.

All-in-all there is a lot to look forward to. With a much less workload-heavy Facebook page to update I can crack on with series 4 of CDW (and hopefully find some more voice actors as well). I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all who have followed this blog and warmly invite you to head over to facebook and follow Christel Doctor Who once I have the page up and running.

This announcement now means that Christel Films is entering a transition phase. I will be spending less time on the blog and more on preparing the Facebook group. I also want to have the entire back-catalouge ready for when the group launches. This post will also stay at the top of the page now, so that everybody knows what is going on. Thank you once more to my dedicated fans I hope to see you on Facebook.

Christel Films is not dying, just regenerating and moving house all in one go.

The youtube tidy up begins...

I am slowly working my through tidying up my youtube account and beginning to upload the rest of the CDW "Back-catalog". Below should be the embedded playlist for series 3 of CDW. Hopefully the previous series will follow in time. Enjoy.

The future's bright. The Future (maybe) is Facebook...

I have been doing a lot of thinking about the work that it takes to keep this blog updated and produce the numerous projects that I am working on.

Over the last year traffic has pretty much dried up completely to the site and whilst I am grateful for the committed "regulars" that keep coming back I am thinking about moving away from Blogger completely.

My main reason is that Facebook have greatly improved their "Groups" service and I am now following a number of Doctor Who projects on Facebook that are getting a lot of followers and publicity without the tedious task of keeping a blog up to date.

By creating a Christel Doctor Who group I could publicize my projects in much more of an open environment and probably get projects out a lot quicker. Right now, I'm just thinking out loud but I'll keep you posted.

New Minecraft Adventure on its Way!

As part of the ever expanding portfolio of projects that will now be featured on christel films I am today announcing that I am developing a new project/map for the popular sandbox/adventure game minecraft.

The project will be an adventure map and be a new standalone story. I shall create the map/adventure and then play through it to create a "film" that will be showcased on this blog. I shall then provide the map for download so that fans of the project can play through the story for themselves.

As of yet I don't have a set schedule for this project. I am still scripting it and putting together the basics of the storyline but it is something that I am committed to doing and should be able to release at some point next year.

Series 4 Finale Underway

Even though it probably won't hit your computer screens until this time next year the series 4 finale of Christel Doctor Who is now being written by my good self. It is a two part story and will feature the usual twists and turns of past finales.

I can also reveal that there will be A LOT of time travel in this story which should be good fun.

New Series 4 Set Pics

As filming for series 4 of Christel Doctor Who picks up speed I am able to get more screenshots out to you the fans. I am still focusing on the first two episodes and at the moment only filming scenes that include the Doctor and Fletcher exclusively. I haven't cast the other roles yet and I'm still getting used to what Moviestorm can do.

The screenshots below show the Doctor and Fletcher in what will be 2 holding cells, indicating that they get into a certain amount of trouble in the first two episodes. Obviosuly this is raw footage and no SFX have been added yet.

The Doctors New Sonic...

Today I found the perfect model for the Doctors new sonic screwdriver and I have been busy tweaking it and importing it into Moviestorm. It looks great in the Doctors hand and I think  will definitely another layer to the new visual aesthetic of the series. The screen shots of the sonic as it looked in Sketchup are below...

I have changed it slightly before putting it into Moviestorm, but to see the final changes you will have to wait for series 4.

The New League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Today I am rolling out one of my "other" projects, starting today with one of my long held ideas; A feature animated film entitled "The New League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". The film will be a rough sequel to the 2002 film starring Sean Connery and be animated and voiced using Moviestorm.

This is of course a very big project and so as far as a deadline goes I have tentatively penciled in August 28th 2016 as a release date, but this will probably change as I begin to push forward with the project.

Below is the now official logo for the film as well as a tease at one of the new members of the league. I shall be releasing more information about the characters that will feature in the story as I develop the project more.

Due to the size and scale of the project I shall also be looking to get a number of different people involved and will soon be "advertising" for different roles including those to do with music, special fx and scripting.
