Centerpoint Episode Titles Coming soon...

With the decision not to voice series 1 of Centerpoint now made I have decided to steam forward with production of the first series. This means that in the next few weeks there will be lots more information about my latest Christel Doctor Who spinoff.

Next Friday I shall be releasing the episode names for the 6 episodes of Centerpoint series 1 as well as the viral video I promised. Be sure to check back next Friday for the latest Centerpoint news and info.

Endgame is here! (again)

Here is the official re-release of the final 2009 special episode Endgame. This clears up the work done on the specials and of course marks the start of official Christel canon. Over the course of the month of May I shall be endeavoring to "re-upload" series 1 of Christel Doctor Who, which will start the next phase of updating this blog. This episode has now been added to the specials page of the blog as well.

Centerpoint Moving ahead (and will not be voiced)

Big news today! Centerpoint will be moving forward ready for release later this year but it will not be voiced. I am currently auditioning for voice parts on the VAA (Voice Actors Alliance) forums and struggling (alot) to gather any attention and/or interest for parts.

With this in mind I have decided to not voice Centerpoint (having figured that if I am struggling to attract attention for a Doctor Who project there will be very few interested in random spin-off series). However, the knock on effect is this. Without having to wait on voice actors I can move ahead and get the series animated and ready for release sooner than first thought.

Which means that the second viral campaign will start very soon. Be sure to be on the lookout, ACoRN is watching...

Second 2012 Special Coming July...

With the dust having now settled after the release of the first 2012 special episode Out of Time I am now turning my attention towards the second episode entitled "Written in the Stars". Now, I say episode, but that is not entirely true because Written in the Stars will be the very first Christel Doctor Who comic strip.

The plan is to release the story over five days in one week during July. I will get the pictures for the comic panels from taking stills of the shots of want in the movies stunts and effects and then tart them up and add the speech using photoshop.

I am still undecided at the moment as to whether the actual story will be a part of Christel canon or a standalone story, but that is something that doesnt need to be decided until much closer to the time.

Is a Christel Doctor Who Movie in the works?

Although the post title is usually reserved for more popular Doctor Who sites, and that supposed Doctor Who Movie that has been touted since the series return in 2005, I am considering putting pen to paper on an idea that I have for a Christel Doctor Who movie.

Although this is just an idea fluttering around in my head at the moment I have had a few thoughts about what a movie would entail, how I could tie it into my own canon and, dare I say it, how it might provide an eventual exit strategy for me (that sentence is in now way a declaration of my intention to stop CDW).

Whilst I fully realise the work that a movie would take I am beginning to play around with some new animation software and having planned the next two series at least for Christel Doctor Who, it could provide a real opportunity for me to craft my magnum opus. I'll keep you posted.

Fan Fiction - Lego Doctor Who by BenTheCreator

Although its not anime it still qualifies as fan fiction and very good fan fiction at that. BenTheCreator has created a very good first episode of what could be a promising Doctor Who fan series. Clocking in at just under 9 minutes long the episode tells the story of a newly regenerated Doctor landing on earth and being chased by some deathly robots. Enjoy...

As you can see lego has been used to really good effect here and the production quality of the episode is of a really high quality and makes it a really convincing Doctor Who experience.

Presenting...Out of Time

I am pleased to present the first of the Christel Doctor Who 2012 special episodes "Out of Time." This episode is not only the first of the 2012 specials but is also an interactive episode in that you, the viewer gets to play a part in the overall story. The interactivity does come towards the end of the episode but don't skip to it otherwise you wont understand what is going on. You may also wish to have a pencil and a scrap piece of paper to hand, you will have some very special instructions to remember.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the episode, I look forward to hearing what the general opinion is. This is something new that I have decided to try my hand at and I would like to know what you think. Enjoy...

Out of Time should be up today

I am still hoping to have the first 2012 CDW special Out of Time uploaded today but I am having trouble editing the video at the moment. I am however hoping to resolve these problems soon and should have it uploaded for later tonight.

CDW Series 4 will be voiced (hopefully)

After declaring the other day that I was unsure about whether to voice series 4 of Christel Doctor Who or not I have thought long and hard about the pros and cons and decided to stick with it. To that end, I am pleased to announce that voice auditions have opened for the three main roles of series 4 on the Voice Actors Alliance Forums, thats right the THREE main roles.

Obviously the first is the Doctor, but the second and third are that of his two new companions Fletcher Reed and an alien girl named Mystus. I am not going to give too much information away about these characters yet but as you can see it does confirm that the "TARDIS crew" will be back up to three full time members for series 4.

You can find the audition thread here. I shall also be updating the series 4 section of the sidebar with the info about Fletcher and Mystus soon.

Burkeys Doctor Who - Teaser Trailer

Long time friend and supporter of this blog Burkey has released a new teaser trailer for the continued adventures of his Doctor in his own Doctor Who series. It is embedded below for you to see and as I am sure you will agree sets a really intriguing tone for the rest of the series.

Be sure to head over to Burkeys blog here and check out the rest of the news on his series for which I have written an episode called Father Time, which should be episode 8.

Series 4 "First of a new trilogy of series"

In the same way that the guardians of time story arc linked the first three series of Christel Doctor Who together there will be a new overall arc that links series 4,5 and 6.

I sat down yesterday and finalized my ideas, allowing me to get the whole thing planned out and "greenlit" series 5 and 6.

The slight difference this time around will be that I do not intend to rely on the overall arc so much, with the aim being that the three series have merits on their own but then link together to form a greater story. I believe that series 1, and especially 2 were held back at times by the overall promise of a "massive series 3 payoff". No word I am afriad yet as to what this overall arc may be but as soon as series 4 starts you should have a clearer idea.

Series 4 now gathering pace...big decisions to be made

I am pleased to be able to confirm that series 4 of Christel Doctor Who, or at least the first half, is now written. I am now moving into pre-production and looking through the scripts in order to edit, chop and change as I see necessary. With this however comes some very big decisions. I said from the start that series 4 would be voiced, but I was never 100% drawn on the idea. I still want to go down that route but I am unsure as to my next step, plus if I decided to stay with subtitles I could get the first half of series 4 out by the end of this year, easily.

I have also fallen guilty of sidelining Centerpoint somewhat. I do not have all the scripts written yet and I had planned to go into production over the summer. This means that I may end up cutting the series down to six episodes (which it was originally) but splitting them over the end of this year, and the start of next. This will give me the chance to gauge your opinions of the series before I launch into making any more episodes.

I am going away for a break this week so I will mull these decision over then and post soon with some more definitive plans. I am pleased to tell you though that both Christel Doctor Who and Centerpoint and still well on track and coming along nicely, so there is no need to worry that they won't happen, its just that they may happen sooner (in the case of CDW4 if I decide to stick with subtitles) or later (if I dont manage to get on with Centerpoint.

"Out of Time" still 'on time'

Although I haven't released much information about the first CDW 2012 special "out of time" I can confirm that the episode is still nicely on track and should be ready for release as scheduled on April 15th, which is now under 2 weeks away!

I have 50% of the episode filmed and the pre-title sequence is now rendered in iMovie ready to receive the rest of the episode once it is finished and moved across to my laptop for post-production. The 2012 episodes will not feature the new logo however, I am saving that for series 4 next year. Instead, they will feature a title sequence and logo based loosely on the original CDW title sequence from the 2009 episodes.

I hope to have a trailer for Out of Time ready soon, so be sure to keep checking back for that throughout the course of the week.
